Just when you thought your wallet – and liver – were safe, the boys at Novare Res hit us with another awesome event. Hot on the heels of Gasharoo and Sunday’s Cantillon/Brasserie de la Senne/Moeder Lambic session, Novare has announced a super-rad Belgian Bier Fest.
Starting tomorrow (May 1st), Novare is pouring from 100 different kegs of beer, hailing from some of Belgium’s best breweries. Portland’s favorite bier café promises brews from Cantillon, De la Senne, La Rulles, Des Rocs, St. Bernardus, Caracole, Bosteels, Van Steenberg, De Struise, De Ranke, Geants, Chimay, Koningshoeven, Petrus, Witkap, and plenty of other breweries. Pair these with Novare’s great bottle list of Belgian ales, and there will be no scarcity of great choices this weekend.
As always, the event should run through the weekend unless the kegs run dry. We Portlanders certainly have an appetite for Belgian-style ales, and this is without a doubt the best selection of Belgian beers you’ll find this side of Ebenezer’s. If you’re a beer-lover dying to try rarer brews or a newbie who’d like to sample flavorful and truly unique beers, you have no excuse to avoid Novare Res this weekend.
