You’re dying to meet Mr. Brews + Books in person, right? Of course you are! If you’re headed to the Maine Brewers Festival this Saturday, you can see me talk awkwardly about beer live and in the flesh!
I’ll get the macro information about the festival out of the way before the micro of why I’m there. The 16th Annual Maine Brewers Festival takes place this Saturday, November 7th, at the Portland Expo. There are at least 16 confirmed breweries showcasing their brews, including newcomers Maine Beer Company and absentees of former fests Allagash and DL Geary Brewing. The afternoon (1-4:45) and evening (6-9:45) sessions promise good food and live musical entertainment along with all the beer.
In addition to the breweries, food vendors and musicians, this year will be the first that the fest has tables for the Maine Brewers’ Guild and the Maine Beer Writers’ Guild. This is where I come in – I’ll be manning the Writers’ Guild table during both sessions, along with my buddy Luke from Blog About Beer. If you have beer questions, want some literature about the guilds, or just want to say hi, swing by! Like Luke, I’ll be tweeting from the fest, so don’t forget to follow me on Twitter and keep an eye open for the #mebrewfest tag. Even if you can’t try the beer, it’ll be like you’re at the fest!
On last check, tickets were still available at Sebago and RSVP, but getting very, very slim. If you haven’t gotten tickets yet you might be out of luck (but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try to procure some!). If you do get some tickets, please stop by the Guild table and say hello. We’d be happy to answer questions about blogging, Maine beer, homebrewing, food pairings and everything else beer-y. If we’re subtle about it, I can probably even get away with answering a few book questions.
I hope to see you there! Cheers!
