Bookrageous Episode 6; The ‘Best American’ Series

Episode six of the Bookrageous Podcast is live! This time out, Jenn (of JennIRL fame) and I were again joined by Paul Montgomery, host of the Fuzzy Typewriter podcast. Jenn, Paul and I chat about what we’ve been reading and discuss the yearly Best American series of books, get geeky, and talk about what we love about collections and anthologies. Enjoy, subscribe, and let us know what you’d like to see in future episodes!

Books in Brief

I’m trying something new here; short (like, less than 30 seconds) recommendations of books. Maybe the conciseness of Twitter is getting to me and I’m trying to get out what I’m saying in as few words as possible. Then again, maybe it’s my life as a bookseller – sometimes, if you can’t handsell a customer on a book in a few moments, you’ve lost them. Either way, enjoy my squeamishness about being on camera and my recommendations of Freakonomics and Gotham Central. Freakonomics just came out in paperback from Harper, and DC has released two beautiful hardcovers collecting all of Gotham Central.

If you have any books you’d like to quickly suggest on video, I would love to feature other booksellers and booklovers on this site. Heck, if you want to do a sub-:30 video on a beer I’ll toss it on here.

In the meantime, keep an eye on my 12Seconds.tv and Viddler accounts for more video book suggestions.
